Cloudium Systems, the Irish company focused on developing products and solutions for virtual desktops and cloud computing, today launches its innovative next-generation ZeroClient family for desktop virtualization. The VCA2000 family is built on two years of development around the Microsoft RemoteFX technology. The combined solution delivers the same fidelity of experience for users on a remote connection as on a local desktop PC.

The VCA2000 family is a unique standards-based solution. The Cloudium-designed CA2020 semiconductor at its heart is optimized to leverage the power and performance of Microsoft RemoteFX. There are two initial members of the VCA2000 family – a single video head unit and a dual video head unit. This product family is a next generation, high performance, low cost, energy efficient ‘zero client’ solution based on Cloudium’s CA2020 semiconductor.

Cloudium has worked closely with Microsoft over the last two years and licensed aspects of the RemoteFX technology for its products. The VCA2000 product family is Cloudium Systems’ first product range to incorporate this technology. Cloudium Systems CEO, John Hickey, commented:
