Cloudium Systems secures seed funding to enable new computing paradigm. Enterprise Ireland and private investors have joined to provide funding for Cloudium Systems to enable high performance, low cost server-based desktop virtualization for the mass market.

Enterprises are trying to leverage server-based virtual desktops to achieve significant cost savings. Key inhibitors for mainstream users have been the user-experience - poor video/audio quality and peripheral compatibility. Cloudium Systems is developing innovative silicon acceleration technology to address the key performance issues.

Enterprise Ireland is the Irish government agency responsible for the development and promotion of the indigenous business sector. Enterprise Ireland partners with Venture Capital funds to provide finance.  Enterprise Ireland has committed to investing $175 million in its 2007 - 2012 Seed and Venture Capital Scheme for SMEs in Ireland.

Cloudium Systems has been founded by industry veterans and has commenced engineering operations in Limerick, Ireland.
